Cecil Sharp House (CSH) is the only dedicated folk arts centre in England.

This Grade II listed building is home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library.  Opened in 1930, it is named after the English folk dance and song collector, and founder of the English Folk Dance Society, Cecil Sharp (1859-1924).

Cecil Sharp House hosts a year round programme of folk events including courses and classes for childrenyoung people and adults, a busy social dance and professional music performance programme of eventsfamily events, lectures and conferences, and visual art exhibitions.

The House’s five spaces are also available for hire and are regularly used for rehearsals by orchestras, opera, theatre and dance companies; for training, lectures and conference events; for parties and weddings; and for performance events.
